These struts attach to the rack with vinyl coated p-clamps

  These steel P-clamps can grip anywhere along the length of the rails. 
 The vinyl coating looks good, prevents slipping, and preserves
 the powder-coating of the rack.  They're really strong, too.
 I watched Abe carry his girlfriend on his rack with no problem.
